Times tables are key and it is very important that your child learns to recite their tables in sequence first, moving on to being able to random answers. If your child knows their 2 times table really well, ask them random questions – e.g. 2 x 2, 5 x 2, 11 x 2. We have lots of products to help. Keeping maths real and playing maths games is something you can really help your child with at home – give them a toy catalogue and say they have £50 to spend on 3 of their favourite things. What will they choose? Work out the total together, with the correct change and even design a graph together. Let them see the money for themselves.
